ATL Computer Services has officially been
in business since 1997. Unofficially, we have been in business since 1991
when we used to help family, friends and neighbors with their computers in
exchange for spending money.
My computer experience began clear back when I was in 6th grade. We had an old Apple IIc that we messed around with. Mostly playing games, and using it for actual computer work. When I was in 9th grade, I dabbled with Basic. My experience with IBM compatables began in 1988 when we purchased a Cordata 8088 which my dad still uses today. As time progressed, I purchased my own computer. A 286, which at the time was a pretty snazzy computer. Next, came a 486, then a Pentium 100, Pentium 133, Pentium II 300, P3-500, and now a P3-800 with all the trimmings.
I have always been the one to tear something apart to figure out how it worked, and then put it back together to see if it still worked. I've been building computers for neighbors and friends for quite a number of years. In addition to the hardware, i've always enjoyed tinkering with software.
I started off with DOS, and worked my way up the various version of Windows, from Windows 3.0 (who here ever used that version). I've used and know Windows 95, 98, 98SE. I also use Windows NT 4, Windows NT Server 4, Windows 2000 and I am presently dabbling with Windows XP Pro and Windows .Net.
I have a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education and use that degree to teach Computer Science courses at East Minico Jr. High, I also teach Computer classes for the College of Southern Idaho since 1996. In addition, I have been upgrading computers and doing lessons since 1991.
