When I built our home in 2004, I wanted to have a room that could serve as a Home Theater.

The second floor of the home is built into the truss system and it ended up that I could have a room that was 19 feet deep and 16 feet wide with an 8 foot ceiling.

When the home was near completion, I was running a bit short on money so the theater did not get finished.  A few months after I moved in, I was able to come up with some more money and could finish the room if I stuck to a budget.  I had a $1,000 for carpet and about $3500 to put the equipment in.

I put in a riser area in the back of the room and had the carpet installed.

I ordered a Infocus SP4805 projector and a Carada screen.  I bought some Klipsch speakers and a Yamaha reciever.

This theater suited our needs until January of 2008 when we wanted to upgrade to a High Definition projector and audio receiver that could handle HDMI and a BluRay player.
